AIIMS-like institute for Ayurveda in Delhi Inaugurated by PM

 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday launched AIIMS-like institute for ayurveda in Delhi on the occasion of National Ayurveda Day. It is the first ever 200 bed capacity ayurveda hospital built on the lines of AIIMS. Government is planning to launch such traditional and hi-tech ayurveda centers in all districts of the state as said by the Prime Minister. This AIIMS-like institute for ayurveda in Delhi is equipped with most advanced technologies needed to treat patients.

Rupees 156 Crore Committed by Yes Bank for Namami Gange project

 

Private sector lending Yes Ban has committed to provide Rs. 156 Crore to fund first Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) which will be developed at Varanasi. The sewage plant will be constructed under Hybrid Annuity-PPP Model. A deal has been signed by the bank with Essel Infra-projects for Rs. 156 Crore Financial closure which will fund the STP under Namami Gange Project.

India-Russia Will be conducting First Ever Tri Services Joint Exercise

 

Exercise INDRA-2017, the first ever Tri Services Joint Exercise amongst Indian and Russian Armed Forces will be happening in the Eastern Military District of Russia from 19 to 29 Oct 2017.The 11-day Exercise INDRA-2017 will be led at the 249th Combined Army Range Sergeevisky and in the Sea of Japan close to Vladivostok.

The Indian contingent will include 350 staff from Army, 80 from Air Force, two IL 76 airplane and one frigate and corvette each from the Navy.

Varun Dhawan has become the youngest Indian Actor to have his wax statue at Madame Tussauds Hong Kong. He is the fourth Indian whose statue will be displayed at Madame Tussauds Hong Kong after Mahatma Gandhi, Narendra Modi and Amitabh Bachchan. The statue will be unveiled in the first quarter of 2018.


IBM Launches Blockchain Banking Network to Speed Cross-border Payments

 

International Business Machines Corp. (IBM) declared the dispatch of IBM Blockchain, new blockchain banking money arrangement, that will help monetary organizations for cross-border payments.

In the first global payments system of its kind, IBM has joined with regional financial services company KlickEx Group and Stellar.org, a nonprofit association backings an open source blockchain arrange for financial services.

The arrangement is intended to diminish the settlement time and lower the cost of finishing worldwide payments for businesses and consumers.


50 Indian peacekeepers in Sudan awarded UN medal

 

Fifty Indian peacekeepers positioned in South Sudan have been honoured with the UN Medal for showing great professionalism and services in ensuring protection of civilians and building strong peace in the contention ridden nation.

The Indian peacekeepers are positioned as a part of the UN Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS).They were given the honour as of recently by UNMISS Force Commander General Frank Mushyo Kamanzi.

Indian Ambassador to South Sudan, Srikumar Menon, went to the award function and expressed gratitude toward the peace attendants for their dedication and services.
