UP Cabinet Ppproved Renaming Mughalsarai Tehsil

The UP government under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is renaming cities and various places in the state. In the latest step the UP cabinet approved Renaming Mughalsarai tehsil after Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay. It was approved by cabinet last friday. Mughalsarai is a tehsil in Chandauli district of Uttar Pradesh. It will be given new name after after Bharatiya Janata Party ideologue Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay.

Speaking about the decision, a government spokesperson said that till now no tehsil named as Deen Dayal Upadhyay Nagar tehsil. A recommendation to change the name of Mughalsarai tehsil as Deen Dayal Nagar was considered during a high-level meeting held at the state revenue board here on September 14, 2017.

Since Adityanath Yogi taken charge as CM of Uttar pradesh, many changes in names of places in the recent past have been done. Earlier in August 2018, Mughalsarai railway station was renamed after Upadhyay. In another changes, major ones were

  • The government changed Allahabad as Prayagraj
  • Faizabad division and district was given new name as Ayodhya.
  • The Indian Air Force airport in Gorakhpur was renamed after Maha Yogi Gorakhnath

Another Approved Proposals

In another major approval, the government also approved proposal to implement 10% reservation for economically weaker sections in general category. The reservation is applicable to all government jobs and government educational institutions. it will take immediate effect from January 14, 2019, was also approved.
