Madhya Pradesh – First State of the Country to Shift to Jan-Dec Fiscal Year

Madhya Pradesh has become the 1^st Indian state to implement newly proposed Fiscal Year period that is Jan- Dec.

This decision was taken in the state cabinet meeting chaired by the honorable Chief Minister of state Mr. Shivraj Singh. This decision is influenced from the latest recommendations made by the NITI Ayog’s meeting held in Delhi recently. In the meeting PM Narendra Modi had pitched to shift the fiscal year to January-December.

So from now the budget session of Madhya Pradesh will be held in Dec-Jan.
