Defence Acquisition Council (DAC) Approved Rs. 9,435-crore procurement proposals for three services

Defence Acquisition Council (DAC) chaired by Defence minister of India Nirmala Sitharaman, has approved Rs. 9,435-crore procurement proposals for three services. As per the proposal 41,000 light machine guns (LMGs), more than 3.5 lakh close quarter battle (CQB), High-capacity radio relay (HCRR) and two Pollution control vessels (PCV) will be bought.


IndusInd Bank And Ripple Tie-Up For Cross-Border Remittances

To make easy payments in and outside to India, IndusInd Bank has tied up with enterprise blockchain solution for Global Payments “Ripple”. The tie-up will facilitate Ripple to provide instant access in emerging markets such as India, Brazil, and China. The move is seen as significant one as there is increase in payments coming in India in recent times. According to 2017 statistics, India saw a total of $65 billion moves into the country.

Moon Will get first mobile phone network

Vodafone Germany, Nokia and Audi on Tuesday announced that they are working on a project to establish first mobile phone network on Moon. It is expected to get ready in 2019. As the work on 5G network is under testing mode so it will be a 4G network that will be set up at Moon.

First Mega Food Park of Maharashtra inaugurated at Satara

First Mega Food Park in Maharashtra was inaugurated on Thursday by Satara Mega Food Park Pvt. Ltd. It was inaugurated by Minister of Food Processing Industries Harsimrat Kaur Badal at Village Degaon of district Satara. Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis was also present at the ceremony.

Satara food park is the twelfth one to be opened in India. Out of 12 food parks in India so far, 2 were opened in the previous government’s tenure while rest of the 10 have been started by Narendra Modi Government. It is spread in 64 acres of land and is established at a cost of Rs. 139.30 crore.

Speaking on occasion Mrs Badal said that her ministry’s motive behind opening such food parks in India is to boost the food processing industry. She said it will also help to grow agriculture sector and to double farmer’s income and will also contribute to ‘Make in India’ initiative of the government.


Virat Kohli Made Brand Ambassador for Amaze by Luminous Power Technologies

Luminous Power Technologies has announced that it has made Virat Kohli the brand Ambassador of company’s new independent brand Amaze. The new brand of Luminous Amaze will work on producing different products than what Luminous is currently producing. According to details Amaze will focus on unstructured battery market. Company is planning to invest amount of Rs 150 crore in next three to five years for the developent its new brand.
