Surat – First Indian District with Solar powered Health Centers
Surat District in Gujarat has got a new recognition of becoming first state of India with 100 per cent solar powered health centers. Surart currently has 52 Primary Health Centers (PHC) and all of them are connected to solar power. The move along with saving electricity up to 40% will also reduce global warming.
The district is on a mission to make whole state solar powered. It is now working on making its 572 Gram Panchayats fully solar powered. Out of total 572, 150 gram panchayats have already been powered with solar electricity.
Pankaj Advani Wins Asian Billiards Championships Title
Pankaj Advani has defeated his practice partner B Bhaskar by 6-1 to win Asian Billiards Championships Title. Pankaj was defending his title against his friend and country mate at match held in Yangon, Myanmar. This was Advani’s eleventh gold in Asian level of cue sports. First frame of the game was won by Bhaskar. Then Pankaj bounced back hard. He did not gave any comeback chance to Bhaskar in next rounds. In fourth and fifth frames Advani played so attacking game that he didn’t let Bhaskar to get even a single point. Below are final scores: 6-1: 24-100 (100), 102 (102)-6, 101(83)-59, 100(94)-0, 101(96)-0, 102-40, 101(99)-51.
In another match India’s Amee Kamani beat Thiland’s Siripaporn Nuanthakhamjan by score of 3-0: 49-11, 83-46, 72-24.
India U-16 Win Hong Kong Football Tournament
Indian U-16 team has came victorious of Jockey Cup International Youth Invitational Football Tournament. India defeated Hong Kong U-17 by 4-2. It was a U-17 tournament in actual and India participated with under 16 team. The is third victory of Indian junior National team after they defeated Chinese Taipei (4-0) and Singapore (3-1). The team is unbeaten in its last 22 matches.
The team performing so well and has also qualified for AFC U-16 Finals. AFC U-16 tournament is FIFA U-17 World Cup qualifier from where top four teams will qualify for U-17 FIFA world cup.
Peru elected Martin Vizcarra as New President
Martin Vizcarra has sworn in as new President of Peru. He was vice president and Peru’s ambassador to Canada before becoming president. Martin has replaced Pedro Pablo Kuczynski who resigned from president post recently.

India at 109th place globally in mobile download speeds
India is the top country of world in terms of internet data usage. But the rank of India is Internet speed is not pleasing. As per latest speed test report by Ookla’s, India is ranked at 109th globally in mobile download speed with average download speed of 9.01 mbps. Norway has been the top internet speed country with download speed of 62.07 mbps in Ookla’s Speedtest index.
