Maharashtra Govt Planning to give Rs 3-Per-Litre Subsidy to Milk Producers

State government of Maharashtra is planning to give a subsidy of Rs. 3 per litre on milk. The decision was taken by cabinet of Maharashtra on May 8, 2018. It is aimed to increase production of milk powder from surplus milk. The milk subsidy in Maharashtra will cover co-operative and private producers. 


Rupees 5137 crore budget for 2018-19 Approved by Delhi Jal Board (DJB)

Delhi Jal Board (DJB) has approved a budget of Rs. 5137 crore for the term 2018-19. The allocated budget will be utilized in :-

  • Expansion  and repair of sewage
  • Water supply networks in the uncovered areas

Here is how budget allocated will be distributed:

Out of total Rs 5137 crore, Rs. 2350 will be used for plan expenditure while Rs 2787.6 will be used for non plan expenditure. Apart from using the budget for creation of new sewage lines, older ones in some areas like south Delhi’s Panchsheel Park and Saket will also be improved or repaired.

India Signs USD200 Million Loan Deal With World Bank For National Nutrition Mission

A deal between India and world bank has bee signed under which World bank will give US $200 Million loan to India. The loan given by world bank will be used in National Nutrition Mission (POSHAN Abhiyaan).

The loan of world bank will help India to reduce stunting rate in children between age group of 0-6 years. The aim is to reduce it from current 38.4% to  25% by the end of 2022.


Google launches Android Things for IoT platform

Google’s parent company Alphabet Inc’s has launched Android Things (codenamed Brillo). It is a light variant (or spinoff) of an Android Operating System specially designed for the Internet of Things (IoT) devices. The objective is to make IoT machines developers more capable so that they can built faster, cheaper and more secure devices.


Israel Withdraws From Race For UN Security Council Seat

Israel has withdraw its name from the race of two seats on the United Nations Security Council in 2019-20. Now Germany and Belgium are only two nations left who will contest for the seats that were allocated to the Western European and Others Group.

With Israel’s withdraw both Germany and Belgium will now be uncontested. But, they still need to win more than two-thirds of the overall General Assembly vote to be elected.


India To Host 15th Asia Media Summit

India will be the host of 15th Asia Media Summit (AMS-2018). It will be hosted in national capital of India, New Delhi. “Telling our Stories Asia and More” will be the theme of AMS-2018. The aim of the summit is to share thoughts and information by broadcasters of Asia.

Organizers of AMS-2018 will be Asia-Pacific Institute for Broadcasting Development (AIBD), its partners and international organizations.
