India Signs Double Taxation Avoidance Treaty With Hong Kong

In a bid to improve tax system with Hong Kong, India and Hong Kong have signed double taxation avoidance agreement (DTAA). DTAA was signed by Indian Ambassador to China Gautam Bambawale and Hong Kong Finance Secretary Paul Chan Mo-Po.


USA Bans Use Of Venezuelan Cryptocurrency- Petro

Administration of US president Donald Trump has banned use of Venezuelan cryptocurrency (Petro) in America. The prohibition will apply on all citizens and companies operating in US. Venezuela in February had launched its own version of bitcoin and became the first country of world to have its own Cryptocurrency.

Plastic Park To Be Set Up In Deoghar, Jharkhand

Union Government has approved constructing a plastic park at Deoghar District in Jharkhand state. The announcement was made by Union Minister for Chemicals & Fertilizers and Parliamentary Affairs, Mr. Ananthkumar.

According to details, it will be set up in an area of 15 acres by spending 120 Crores. Addressing to problem of excessive plastic waste in the area, Ananthkumar announced to build a Plastic Recycling unit at Deoghar at a cost of 3.5 Crores.


Telangana Made Telugu Language Compulsory

CM of Telangana has made Telugu subject compulsory in all schools of state including public schools for 2018-19 session. The decision was taken after a discussion with officials. Its aim is to respect the mother tongue. The syllabus preparation responsibility for classes has been given to Telugu University and Sahitya Academy.


Hookah Bars Banned in Punjab Permanently

Aiming to reduce diseases caused due to Tobacco products in state, Punjab government has placed permanent ban on Hookah Bars operating in the state.  Amendments in the Cigarette and Other Tobacco Products (Prohibition of Advertisement and Regulation of Trade and Commerce, Production, Supply and Distribution) Act, 2003 were made to impose ban.

Hookah, Hookah bars and Tobacco products are used by young generation of Punjab which is causing serious health issues among them.


New Delhi Ranked 22nd in World

National Capital New Delhi ranked at 22nd position in world and 8th in Asia as the top destination in 2018 for travelers. The list of top 25 travelers choice of destinations was released by TripAdvisor. The list has Paris at top followed by London (UK), Rome (Italy), Bali (Indonesia), Crete (Greece).
