India Became Sixth country in the world that manufactured electric locomotives

Having largest foreign direct investment (FDI) in Indian Railways sector, India has become capable of manufacturing electric locomotives at its own. The country now become the sixth country of world to do so. With this achievement, India joined the league of nations that produce high horsepower locomotives indigenously.

Government of India Coal Import Monitoring System

Indian Government will implement Coal Import Monitoring System (CIMS). This CIMS system will enable importers to submit import details in advance. After implementation of the CIMS, it will be necessary for all importer of coal to submit information about imports in advance. Importer will also have to obtain an automatic registration number through this. This system will be implemented from 1st February, 2021.

New brain-eating amoeba ‘rapidly’ spreading in the US

Naegleria fowleri also called brain eating amoeba is rapidly spreading in the United States. This could be more dangerous and deadly than current COVID-19 virus.

About Naegleria fowleri

  • The amoeba enters into the brain through nose.
  • It is commonly found in fresh hot water
  • Found in rivers, lakes and causes infection called Primary Amoebic Meningoencephalitis.

How does it infect the Humans?

The symptoms starts to show after twenty-four hours of amoeba entrance into human body. At most common, head ache starts to infected person. Along with head ache, vomiting, fever, nausea, seizures, dizziness, stiff neck may also occur. The amoeba enters through nose and enter in the brain. It feeds on the brain tissues. It does not cause harm to the human body if it enters through the mouth.

  • Major sources are swimming pools, contaminated tap water, rivers etc.

Integrated Drug Prevention Policy of Himachal Pradesh

Government of Himachal Pradesh has announced to frame an Integrated Drug Prevention, Treatment, Management and Rehabilitation Programme. This will improve the cooperation between police, media and the Nasha Nivaran Board. Aim is to control the danger of drug abuse in Himachal Pradesh state. Six new drug de-addiction center will also be created under this programme.

Ayushman Bharat completed 1.5 Crore treatments

Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya – Yojana Ayushman Bharat recently completed 1.5 Crore treatments. The programme recently completed two years. The COVID-19 testing was also free for the Ayushman Bharat beneficiaries.

PM announced to release Rs 18,000 crores for Pradhan Mantri-Kisan Samman Nidhi. PM-KISAN scheme aims to provided Rs 6,000 per year in three installments to the farmers. The scheme aims to increase the income of the farmers.

on December 25, India celebrated good governance day. The day is celebrated to remember birth anniversary Former Prime Minister of India Sh Atal Bihary Vajpayee. The day is celebrated since 2014.
