Union Government To Start Award For Best Investigators Of Crime

Union Government Starts best crime investigation awards to encourage police forces to perform better. The award will be given best investigators of police forces from States, union Territories and also to central investigating agencies. The government will distribute 162 medals each year based on average crime data for the last three years. Out of total 162 medals to be distributed, 137 will be given to states and UTs whereas 25 are to be given to central investigating agencies (CIA) – National Investigation Agency (NIA), CBI and Narcotics Control Bureau.


Odisha Forest Department launched App to Fight Fires in Forests. Forest department of Odisha app is used to tackle forest fires during summer in the state. Department also started whatsapp group at which information regarding forest fire can be shared between department and public.


SBI Reduces Charges for non-maintenance of minimum balance

State Bank of India (SBI) has made reduction in its charges for not maintaining minimum balance in accounts. The bank reduced it to 75%. The new rule will be applicable from April 1, 2018. In metro and urban areas non-maintenance of AMB reduced from Rs. 50 per month plus goods and services tax (GST), to Rs. 15 per month plus GST benefiting approx 25 crore bank customers.

For Semi-urban and rural centres, non maintenance charges reduced from Rs. 40 per month plus GST to Rs. 12 reduced to Rs. 10 per month plus GST.


Narendra Modi and French President Macron Inaugurated Solar Power Plant At Mirzapur (UP)

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and visiting French President Emmanuel Macron jointly inaugurated biggest solar power plant of Uttar Pradesh at Mirzapur district’s Chhanvey block. It is the biggest solar power plant of UP with a capacity of 75 MW and is set up across 380 acres. Approx 1,18,600 solar panels have been used. It has been built by ENGIE (a French firm). It will generate 15.6 crore units electricity each year.


Anti-Defection Bill Approved by Maldives Parliament

Parliament of Maldives on Tuesday approved Anti-Defection Bill and amendments to the Judicature Act. Bill was proposed by ruling Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) group leader of Parliament and Villimale MP Ahmed Nihan whereas PPM’s deputy leader and Fonadhoo MP Abdul Raheem Abdullah proposed Judicature Act amendment.


ICICI Bank launches online overdraft facility for MSME customers

ICICI bank launched new instant online overdraft facility ‘InstaOD’ for its MSME (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises) customers. It is an easy and convenient way of over-drafting which is completely paperless. Also customers need not to visit bank branches for any formalities. India Announced USD 100 Millions LoC For Mauritius

India has announced Line of Credit (LOC) of USD 100 Millions for Mauritius. The LoC decision was taken after a delegation level talk between Indian President Ram Nath Kovind, Prime Minister of Mauritius Pravind Jugnauth and his Cabinet member. Two sides signed many agreements on the second day of Kovind’s visit to Mauritius.


PM Modi Announces Numerous Schemes for Poor in Varanasi

Narendra Modi has announced various schemes for poor in Varanasi (Uttar pradesh). Check out below:

  • PM Modi and France president Emmanuel Macron jointly inaugurated 101 megawatt solar power plant in Mirzapur.
  • Ayushman Bharat Scheme launched to ensure better health services for poor people. It is launched with a hope of taking care of hospital expenses for poor.
  • A nutrition scheme for children especially for girls launched by the name as Pradhan Mantri Poshan Mission Yojana.
  • PM also laid foundation stones of various projects worth Rs. 800 Crores. He also flagged of a new train “Kashi Patna jan Shtabdi” between Varanasi and Patna.
