INS Karanj launched in Mumbai

INS Karanj – The third state-of-the-art Scorpene class submarine was launched on Wednesday by wife of Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Sunil Lanba. The newly launched submarine is named after earlier decommissioned Kalvari class INS Karanj in 2003. The submarine has been built by Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDSL) under the Project 75. Its length and height of INS Karanj is 67.5 and 12.3 meters respectively.


Center allotted Rs 1500 For Organic Farming In Uttrakhand

The Centre government has allotted a grant of Rs 1,500 crore for next 3 years with an objective for the promotion of organic farming in Uttarakhand satae. Union Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh allotted the amount after he met with Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat at national capital New Delhi on 30 January, 2018.

Apart from that a proposal of Rs. 2,600 crore was also cleared by Union Minister for Uttarakhand’s co-operative sector. Out of Rs.2600 crores, 200 crore rupees will be utilised for state’s sugar mils reorganisation.


Indian Railways set to get 1st high-speed electric locomotive in March

Indian Railways is all set to launch first high-speed electric locomotive in India. It will be launched in March of this year. This electric locomotive will come with 12,000 horsepower electric power. It has been developed in collaboration with France’s Alstom.

The electric locomotive is capable of running at top speed of up to 120 kmph. French President Emmanuel Macron is scheduled to be visiting India in March and the inauguration ceremony is scheduled in March 2018.


Indian Railways Setting Up New Coach Factory In Maharashtra

Indian Railways will be constructing a new Coach Factory In Maharashtra state of India. The location of coach factory in Maharashtra will be Latur district. The announcement was made after a meeting between Railways Minister Piyush Goyal and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis in Mumbai.

To be constructed Coach Factory will manufacture electric multiple units (EMUs) for suburban trains and will also build metro trains coaches.


New e-way bill system comes into force for smooth inter-state movement of goods

Government is all set to introduce a new e-way bill system to bring uniformity across the states for smooth inter-state movement of goods. Earlier the trial of fifteen days e-way bill system has ended on 31 January, 2018. Now the government has implement the system nationwide.


Punjab govt bans sale of Endosulfan and other 19 insecticides

After observing bad health effects, government of Punjab baned sale of Endosulfan along with other 19 insecticides from February, 2018. The ban was imposed by Punjab govt on the recommendations of Registration Committee, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) and Punjab State Farmers’ Commission (PSFC).
