Free Wi-Fi facility started at Konkan Railway Stations

On 21 may, 2017, Indian railways minister Suresh Prabhu inaugurated free Wi-Fi facility of up to 2 Mbps bandwidth in Konkan Railway from Kundal Railway Station. This is a great initiative by the Indian Railway and helped India to move towards its goal of smarter India. It will help passengers to track records of their trains and to get any required information quickly.

This internet facility to Indian Railways is provided by SYSCON/JOISTER. The company will provide peer to peer 24 hours free Wi-fi with a bandwidth of 2 mbps at 28 railway stations that comes under Konkan Railways. The facility is available form Kolad to Madure which covering total 28 stations. The 2Mbps system is capable to provide internet access to 300 users at bigger railway stations and upto 100 user at small stations.
