Anil Khanna Becomes new Chairman of IOA Finance Commission

Anil Khanna a senior sports administrator has been appointed as new Chairman of IOA finance commission. Along with Khanna being appointed as Indian Olympic Association head, four member advisory committee was also formed which comprises of Tarlochan Singh, GS Mander, S Regunathan and BS Landge.

The other member of Khanna led finance commission includes Sahdev Yadav as the Secretary General, Indian Weightlifting Federation and DK Singh, Secretary, Uttarakhand Olympic Association.


Federal Bank Hedge Equities Ties up

with an aim to offer Portfolio investment Schemes to NRIs, Federal Bank and Hedge Equities Ltd have came into a partnership. An MoU was signed between Jose K Mathew (EVP & Head Retail Business, Federal Bank) and Alex Babu (MD, Hedge Equities Ltd).

Federal bank works under the RBI and has been authorized by the RBI to issue letters of permissions to NRIs on the behalf of RBI for conducting transactions in secondary market. For this purpose Federal bank has singed PIS agreements with eight partners. These tie ups of Federal bank with different firms helps NRIs to do investment in the Indian companies’s shares at the secondary market for purchasing and selling of shares or convertible debentures on repatriable and non repatriable basis.


Bihar poorest state in India, Delhi richest: National survey

As per the National survey conducted by the National Family and Health Survey (NFHS-4), Poorest state of India is Bihar whereas Delhi tops among the richest states in Country. The survey was conducted on more than 6 lakh households of country. Punjab is the other state that is featured at top in the list in terms of richest states of the country.

Mumbai Port Trust will Create World’s Largest Garden In The City: Nitin Gadkari

Union Shipping and Ports Minister Nitin Gadkari on Thursday announced to build “world’s largest garden” in central Mumbai by reclaiming land. The largest garden of world in India will be constructed by Mumbai Port Trust in the 350 acres of land.

Creation of largest garden of world in Mumbai is the part of the city’s development project and Gadkari requested Mumbai chief minister to start the project as soon as possible. MbPT is biggest land owner in the Mumbai city.


South Australia planning to build largest thermal solar plant of world

South Australia is on a plan to build largest thermal solar plant of world. Recently a world’s largest battery was also launched by the South Australia on Friday. The state development approval for the world largest solar plant has already been given. The construction work will be started this year.


WEF ranks India 30th on global manufacturing index; Japan tops

In the latest world economic forum report, India has been ranked at 30th place in terms of global manufacturing index. The list is being toped by world technology leader Japan. Japan is followed by South Korea, Germany, Switzerland and China.

In comparison with BRICKS countries India is only behind China. China has been placed at 5th place in latest WEF report about global manufacturing index. All other bricks countries that are Brazil, Russia and South Africa have been below India. Russia is at 35th place, Brazil at 41st place and South Africa is at 45th as per the report.
