Prime Minister Narendra Modi lays foundation stone of first Hindu temple in Abu Dhabi

PM Narendra Modi is on a visit to UAE has laid foundation stone for first traditional Hindu temple in Al Wathba, Abu Dhabi. The land for the construction of Temple was allocated by UAE government at time when Modi visited gulf country in 2015. The first temple of Hindus in Abu Dhabi will be having idols of Lord Krishna, Lord Maheshwara, Lord Ayyappa and more. The temple will be get completed by 2020.


Mumbai becomes 12th Richest City of World-New World Report

As per the list of richest cities released by New World Report, Mumbai has been ranked at 12th place while New York City of US tops the list. Mumbai is the only city that got place in the list of top 15 richest cities with total worth of US $950. Below are top five cities in the list:

India and Palestine Signed 6 MoUs

India and Palestine have signed six memorandum of Understandings worth USD 40 million. Palestine president Mahmoud Abbas expressed his thanks to India for ongoing projects in his country. This is the second visit of Narendra Modi after he visited Palestine in 2015. Then Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas also officially visited India in May 2017.


Biswamohan Mahapatra Appointed as New NPCI chairman

The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) on Friday made an announcement to appoint Biswamohan Mahapatra as non-executive chairman of the board. Biswamohan will hold the post for a period of two years, with effect from February 8, 2018. Mahapatra has succeeded B Sambamurthy, who has been the interim chairman.


India Retains Top Spot As Source Market For Dubai In 2017

During year 2017, number of Indian tourists visiting Dubai has been increased by 15 per cent which has helped Dubai to reach 2.1 million tourists arrivals in 2017. As per the data published by Dubai’s Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (Dubai Tourism), Dubai has became first country of world to cross the 2 million mark in a single year.

This success is due to Dubai tourism department’s collaboration with Indian superstar Shah Rukh Khan through ‘BeMyGuest’ campaign.


Sharmila first Indian to qualify for China LPGA Tour

Twenty six years old Indian female golfer Sharmila Nicollet has become the first Indian golf player to qualify for the China Ladies PGA Tour. Sharmila fought back in the last two rounds which earned her a card for the Tour.

Sharmila, who played on the Ladies European Tour before losing her full card, played her three rounds in the CLPGA Tour Qualifying School in 77-73-72 to finish in tied 21st and pick one of the 30 cards available in the 88-player field.


ONGC acquires 10 per cent stake in UAEs Zakum oilfield

Indian oil company ONGC has acquired 10% stake in Abu Dhabi’s offshore Lower Zakum Concession for $600 million. This is for the first time that an Indian company has signed such kind of deal with oil-rich Emirates. It was a part the deal inked between Oil and Natural Gas Executives and official of UAE in presence of visiting Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Abu Dhabi.


Rohan More Becomes 1st Asian To Swim Across Ocean Seven

Pune based Indian swimmer Rohan More has become first Asian and also the first Indian to swim across the Ocean Seven. He is also the youngest person to do this. Rohan swam across Cook Strait between North and South Islands of New Zealand. He completed it in 8 hours and 37 minutes. Overall More is the ninth person in world to complete this.


First International Solar Alliance Summit in New Delhi

First International Solar Alliance Summit is going to be held in India on 11th March, 2018. The alliance will be attended by more than a dozen leaders from Asia, Pacific and South America. The big news about the summit is the presence of French President Emanuel Macron who will be on visit to India at that time.


Dubai Opened world’s tallest hotel

Dubai has added another skyscraper to the already towering skyline after it opened world’s tallest hotel. The Gevora Hotel height is 356 metres and it has total 528 rooms. The previous record of tallest hotel of world was with JW Mariott Marquis, which is also situated in Dubai. The main entry door of the hotel is made up of solid gold. It will be having four health clubs and two luxury restaurants inside it.
