Blackbuck Poaching Case : Salman Khan Found Guilty, Given Five years Imprisonment

Bollywood star actor Salman Khan found guilty today for killing two blackbucks in October 1998. He has been announced 5 years imprisonment for the crime. His other colleague actors who were with him were were not given any punishment in the absence of enough proofs against them. Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, Neelam and Sonali Bendre were with Salman Khan in a jeep with Salman. They were in Kankani village near Jodhpur for shooting the movie “Hum Saath Saath Hain”.

Salman Found guiltySalman was held guilty under sanctions 9/51 of the Wildlife (Protection) Act. According to act, a person can be given maximum punishment of six years jail. The court completed final arguments of the case on 28th March, 2018. After that Chief Judicial Magistrate Dev Kumar Khatri had reserved his judgement and announced it today with five years imprisonment to Bollywood star Salman Khan in Blackbuck Poaching Case.

Under what Acts Salman Found guilty?

Salman was convicted under Section 9 of the WPA. Salman is found guilty of killing animal mentioned under schedule one of act. Schedule one is the highest level of protection act for animals. The Blackbuck (Antelope cervicapra) is protected under the Schedule I. It is the second animal on the alphabetical list.

Where Salman Khan will be Sent?

For today Salman has to stay in Jodhpur Central Jail with Asaram as fellow inmate. He will be put in barrack number two of the Central jail under tight security as per reports. It is the same barrack where Asaram is also kept.

The bail application can now be made tomorrow. So he has to spend today’s night in Jail. This is the fourth time that Salman will be in Jodhpur Central Jail. Earlier in 1998, 2006 and 2007 he has spend total eighteen days in jail all poaching cases against him.
