Supreme Court Allowed Aspirants over 25 Years to appear in NEET Examination

The Supreme Court on Friday permitted medical applicants who are above the age of 25 years to appear in this year’s NEET exam. The bench of court headed by Justice Dipak Misra also allowed them to fill forms for the test till 5th of April.

In January, the government had issued an order to limit the number of times a student could take the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) and it was decided to three. It also capped age of eligibility to 25 years.  Both decisions were taken as per the suggestions given by the Medical Council of India (MCI). Then the students challenged the government’s order.

Earlier, an eligible student above the age of 17 could apply, and there was no cap on the number of attempts.
