Uttar Pradesh Having most number of child labourers : CRY Report

Uttar Pradesh ranked top in the list states having most number of child labourers in the country. Bihar and Rajasthan are placed at second and third place respectively. Maharashtra is at fourth place in the list. The report was released by CRY. According to report there are more than 8 lakh child labourers aged between 5 to 6 years in India. Out of which Uttar Pradesh alone has 2,50,672 children working as labourers. In Bihar the number is 1,28,087 whereas in Maharashtra 82,847 children are labourers.

More facts of the report:
More than 5 lakh children don’t even attend school.
Poverty, lack of social security and unemployment are the main reasons responsible for forcing children to work.
Migration of children along with their families is reason behind discontinuing the studies.
