Union Government Approved Rs. 2000 Crore to Setup New Aadhaar units in Post offices

Prime Minister Narendra Modi Union Government has approved Rs. 2000 Crore to set up new Aadhaar units at post offices to make the enrolment process easy for people.

  • Total 15,000 post offices will be having Aadhaar card centers inside them till March, 2018.
  • The machines used at post office’s Aadhaar card centers will be Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) approved.
  • Trained personnel will be responsible to operate the machines.
  • The move will phase out private contractors from the Aadhaar data collection process.
