Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore appointed as New Sports Minister

RajyaVardhan Singh Rathore has been appointed as Youth Affairs and Sports Minister and will replace Vijay Goel who is going to become minister of state for parliamentary affairs after a major reshuffle by PM Modi. Till now Rathore was serving as minister of state for information & broadcasting.

Colonel Rathore started shooting range in the mid 1990s and after some years he became first person to win a silver medal for India in shooting event at the Olympic Games in 2004. He is also Silver medal winner at 2003 World Championship in Sydney.

He is the first sportsperson to be appointed as Sports Minister of India.

FIFA U-17 Official World Cup Song Launched

The official song for FIFA U-17 world cup tournament was launched on Monday 4 September, 2017 by Sony Pictures Network India and local organizing committee in Mumbai.

The title of the official FIFA U-17 song is “Kar ke Dikha De Goal”. Famous lyricist Amitabh Bhattacharya has written the song and Pritam has composed it. In addition to these, singer like Neeti Mohan, Sunidhi Chauhan, Babul Supriyo, Shaan, Mika and Papon have also featured in the song. Actor Abhishek Bachan has also given Rap performance in the song.

About FIFA U-17 World Cup:

This is the 17th edition of under-17 FIFA world cup. India is going to host this tournament. the tournament will start on 6th October 2017 and will end on 28 October, 2017. It is the first FIFA tournament hosted by India and the final match will be played at Kolkata’s Salt Lake Stadium on October 28,2017.

Amrtipal Singh became first Indian basketball player Signed by an Australian Basketball team

Indian Basketball team Captain Amrtipal Singh became the first Indian basketball player to be signed by an Australian Basketball team. Singh will be a part of Sydney Kings at the pre-season tour where their team will take part in a game against Utah Jazz.

Singh has been a wonderful basketball player and have impressed the Australian team with his performance. He was part of four member Indian team that was part of National basketball League (NBL) draft combine in Melbourne, Australia in 2017.

Later on Amrtipal was invited to China by Sydney Kings to play Atlas Challenge Tournament. Sydney Kings management was very impressed by his performance where Singh scored 17 points 16 rebounds and was the part of the winning team.

Born in Punjab, Singh has played for Pune Peshwas in early days of his career.

MS Dhoni Became First Wicketkeeper to have 100 Stumpings in ODI Cricket

Former Indian cricket team captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has become first wicket keeper to claim 100 stumpings in one day international by surpassing former Sri-Lankan Captain Kumara Sangakara who has done 99 stumping. Record of Dhoni is much better than Sangakara’s record because Dhoni only took 301 ODI matches to achieve this milestone whereas Sangakara has done 99 stumpings in 404 ODI matches.

Akila Dhananjay was the 100th player to whom MS Dhoni dismised through stumping.
