Ravi Shastri Confirmed Head Coach Of Indian Men’s Cricket Team

Ravi Shastri has became the head coach of the Men’s Cricket team of India. The position of coach was vacant after the resignation of Anil Kumble. Along with ravi, Zaheer Khan has been selected as bowling coach whereas Rahul Dravid will be the Batting coach for foreign tours.

The selection was made by the cricket advisory committee (CAC) which was having three members named Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, VVS Laxman and Saurav Ganguly. Other people who had applied for the position of head coach were Virender Sehwag, Tom Moody, Lalchand Rajput, Richard Pybus, Phill Symons but Ravi Shashtri was selected among all.

According to sources, he was also the favorite of Indian team captain Virat Kohli, which was also one of the reason behind his selection. A two years contract has been signed with him so it is clear that he will be having responsibility to prepare team for 2019 World cup. Earlier he had not applied for the post but, he applied later when the application date was extended to 9th July, 2017.

He was one of the best all-rounder for India. He has played 80 tests and 150 one day Internationals for India from 1981 to 1992. He has scored more than 6000 runs and got 280 wickets and was also the part of 1983 world cup winning team.
