Rajasthan became first State to introduce Skill Development Programme in Higher Education

Rajasthan has become the first state of India to implement skill development courses in higher education at college level. The programme has been introduced by the collaboration of Indira Gandhi National Open University(IGNOU) and state department college of education.

Total 16 entrepreneurship and skill development courses have been prepared under the programme for different colleges of state. Under the programme, 12 Certificate courses and 4 diploma courses will be run and every college has to select five courses among all available courses.

Till now 94 colleges have already joined the programme and 5656 students have registered themselves through the colleges. In upcoming session more than 10,000 students will be registered in the programme.

This is a great programme that will develop the working skills of the students at college level because this is the time when most of the students final their decision about their career. This kind of initiative by Rajasthan state government will definitely help students to recognize and work on their skills.
