Prithvi Shaw named India’s captain for U-19 World Cup

Prithvi Shaw is named as India’s U-19 team’s captain for upcoming U-19 cricket world cup. Prithvi Shaw is from Mumbai and is a batsman in the India’s cricket team. He has shown his brilliant batting skills in the domestic cricket and has been selected as U-19 cricket team captain because of brilliant performance at domestic level.

Shaw has recently hit three centuries and two half tons for his team Mumbai in five Ranji Trophy matches. The management committee has also finalised a 16 members India U19 team for the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup 2018 which is going to be held in New Zealand in 2018.

The U-19 world cup will start from 13th January, 2018 and will end on 3rd February 2018. BCCI will also organize a preparatory camp in Bengaluru from December 8 to December 22.

India Record at U-19 World Cups

India is three times U-19 world cup champion in years 2000, 2008 and 2012. Lat time India had failed to win the tournament held at Bangladesh and was beaten by West Indian U-19 cricket team.

Prithvi Shaw (Captain), Shubman Gill (vice-captain), Manjot Kalra, Himanshu Rana, Abhishek Sharma, Riyan Parag, Aryan Juyal (wicket-keeper), Harvik Desai (wicket-keeper), Shivam Mavi, Kamlesh Nagarkoti, Ishan Porel, Arshdeep Singh, Anukul Roy, Shiva Singh, Pankaj Yadav.

Standby players: Om Bhosle, Rahul Chahar, Ninad Rathva, Urvil Patel and Aditya Thakare.
