Internet Security Threat Report : India Third Most Vulnerable Country To Cyber Attacks

Internet Security Threat ReportAccording to Internet Security Threat Report, India is worlds third most Vulnerable country to cyber threats with 5.09% global threats being detected in India in 2017. The threats include malware, spam, ransomware and cryptominers. The report on countries with higher risk to cyber threats was released by Symantec on Wednesday.

Other two top countries in Internet Security Threat Report are US and China. According to reports US was most vulnerable country to threats with a percentage of 26.61% while with 10.95% China is at second place.

How Internet Security Threat Report was Prepared?

The ranking was prepared on eight related parameters which are malware, spam, phishing, bots, network attacks, web attacks, ransomware and cryptominers.

Out of these eight, India was second most affected country by spam, bots and was 3rd country in terms of network attacks. India was fourth in terms of top countries affected by ransomware.

Cryptojacking which is the process of  using a computing device to mine cryptocurrency. India ranked ninth globally and second in Asia-Pacific and Japan region (APJ) in terms of  cryptomining activities.
