India’s tallest flag unfurled at Karnataka’s ‪‪Belgaum‬

India’s tallest flag at Belagavi or Belgaum‬ was unfurled at Kote Kere lake front on Monday in the presence of leaders, schoolchildren, and leaders of Hindu, Muslim, Christian and Sikh institutions. District in-charge Minister, Ramesh Jarkiholi done unfurling f tallest flag of India.

The flag is claimed to be largest in size compared to flag which is at Attari border between India and Pakistan in Punjab in Amritsar. Acc to reports height of flagpole is 110 metres. It is 9,600 sq ft wider. A red light is placed at the top of the flag to get it easily located by pilots.

There will be a park around the flag spread across 1.5 acres. A committee will also be formed that will take care of park. Committee member will be including citizens, district administration, revenue, police and cantonment board officials. Earlier plan was to place the flag on an island in the centre of the lake, but after observations, the island’s soil was found to be not suitable to handle such a tallest flag. So, it was shifted to corner of lake.
