Gymnastics World Cup 2018 : Aruna Budda Reddy Becomes 1st Indian To Win Individual Medal

Aruna Budda Reddy created history at Gymnastics World Cup 2018 as she became first Indian To Win Individual Medal at world Gymnastics championship, in Australia (Melbourne). Aruna won bronze medal in women vault by securing 13.649. Other Indian woman Pranati Nayak managed to score 13.416 and finished at sixth place. Gold medal was won by Tjasa Kysslef of Slovania whereas silver medal was won by Australia’s Emily Whitehead.

Twenty two years old Aruna Budda Reddy is former blcack belt and Karate trainer who won her first national medal in 2005. She also finished at 14th place in 2014 in Vault apparatus at Commonwealth Games. She also managed to rank at ninth-place at the Asian Games. Aruna also finished at sixth place in 2017 Asian Championships.

Gymnastics World Cup 2018

Gymnastics World Cup of this year edition was held in Melbourne of Australia from February 22 to 25. It was Australia that hosted the Gymnastics World cup in 2017. Australia will host the event for next three years also for both Men’s and Women’s Artistic Gymnastics.

Athletes from sixteen countries participated in the event’s qualifying matches. Out of which top eight athletes advance for the finals.
