Rakesh Asthana as CBI special director – A Gujarat-cadre IPS officer has been appointed as CBI special Director by the cabinet committee for appointments. Currently Asthana is holding the position of additional director.
Other Appointments:
Deepak Kumar Mishra who is AGMUT cadre IPS officer of 1984 batch has also been promoted to Special DG in CRPF from his current designation of additional DG in the same department.
Gurbacham Singh – Odisha cadre IPS officer from the same batch has been appointed IB’s Special Director.
Sudeep Lakhtakia who is Telangana cadre IPS officer and is currently working as additional DG in CRPF was appointed as special DG in the paramilitary force.
BSF has also got new special DG as UP cadre 1984-batch IPS officer Dr A P Maheswari will be holding the charge of special DG In BSF. Dr A P Maheswari is presently working with BSF at the position of additional DG.
