Ganga Prasad Sworn in as Governor of Meghalaya

Ganga Prasad has became the 17th full time Governor of Meghalaya. Chief Justice of Meghalaya High Court Dinesh Maheshwari administered the oath of the office to Ganga Prasad. Earlier Banbari Lal Purohit was handling the additional charge of Meghalaya GOvernor due to the resignation of V Shanmuganathan.

Ganga Prasad has more than 23 years of political career. he was the first elected member of Legislative Council in 1994. He continued as a MLC for 18 years including leader of opposition for five years. In the starting ruling days of NDA, Prasad had also served as leader of Bihar legislative council.


Forbes released list of top Indian Richest Persons, Mukesh Ambani at Top

Forbes has released its list of top Indian Richest persons and once again Mukesh Ambani has emerged as India’s richest person with net worth of $38 billion(nearly Rs 2.5 lakh crore). Mukesh Ambani has been on top if the list for last 10 years. Combined wealth of top 100 richest persons of India has rose by 26% to $479 billion (over Rs 31 lakh crore) as compared to 2016.

Azim Premji has shown improvements this year and has occupied the second place in the Forbe’s list with a net worth of $19 billion. He replaced Dilip Shanghvi of Sun Pharma who has slipped down from second place to nineth with total worth of ($12.1 billion). Mukesh Ambani’s brother Anil Ambani shown poor performance in Forbes magazine’s annual India Rich List 2017 and ranked much lower at 45th place with $3.15 billion. last year ,Mukesh was at 32 place.

Acharya Balkrishna of Patanjali Ayurved and very close to Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev has shown a remarkable improvement and jumped from 48th place last year to 19th now with $6.55 billion (about Rs 43,000 crore) net worth.

Forbes has said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s latest experiments with the economy has affected the wealth of Indian Billionaires and the all have shown poor performance except Mukesh Ambani who has been at top for last ten years.

India’s Renewable Energy Capacity will be double by 2022

India will Double Renewable Energy Capacity by 2022 to cross renewable expansion in the European Union for the first time according to International Energy Agency (IEA).

As per the government’s data, current renewable energy capacity of India is 58.30 GW and government has planned to take it to more than double till the 2022. A target of 175 GW has been set by the government which will include 100 GW of Solar and 60 GW of Wind energy by the end of 2022. If this target is achieved, it will be first time that India will cross the renewable expansion in the European Union for the first time

Earlier in this year, solar and wind power tariffs in India had dropped to Rs.2.44 per unit and Rs. 3.46 per unit respectively which was all time low in tariff based competitive bidding conducted by Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI).

According to an analysis, China is at the top position in terms of reneable energy with having over 360 GW of capacity, which is 40% of the global total. China is so progressive in the field of renewable energy that it has already exceeded its set target of 2020 three years ahead.


Cabinet gave approval to Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) Between India and Myanmar

In a meeting led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Cabinet gave approval on the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) amongst India and Myanmar for upgrading Women’s Police Training Center at Yamethin, Myanmar.

Chattisgarh Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh flagged of ‘Cancer diagnosis Ambulance’ from his official residence. The ambulance is fitted with advanced machines for early detection of Cancer in far flung areas of state. The treatment at Cancer diagnosis Ambulance will be provided free of cost. The ambulance will tour for one and half month (45 days)throughout the villages of Chattisgarh.

The ambulance has costed around Rs. 2 Crore. The cancer detection camps are organized by the Akhil Bharatiya Marwari Yuva Manch. Patients suffering from various kinds of cancer diseases such as oral, throat, breast, prostate, intestinal, liver and many others will be examined for early detection of cancer so that it could be treated successfully.

The Cancer diagnosis Ambulance will really be very helpful in detection of cancer among villagers of the state. People of the villages are not much aware of the cancer and there are no adequate medical facilities to detect the disease at early curable state.

As per the doctors, there is only 20% survival rate for cancer patients because in most of the cases the patients already enters into advanced stages III and IV from where the chances to recover are very less. This initiative will surely help the state to early detect the disease.

Cancer is increasing rapidly among Indian women due to low awareness. As per the latest data, India is third in terms of number of cancer cases after China and US and is growing annually at 4.5-5%.
