IPPB to become operational in 650 districts to facilitate financial inclusion in rural

India Post Payments Bank will be made working till April 2018. These payment banks will be made operational in 650 districts of the country and 1.55 lakh post offices from rural areas will be connected through.

These post offices will be carrying out banking services and will also facilitate financial inclusion.


Indian short film ‘The School Bag’ wins award in Montreal

Indian short film ‘The School Bag’ has won the Best Short Film Award at the South Asian Film Festival of Montreal (SAFFM). The short film tells a story based in Pakistan’s Peshawar. It tells about love between a mother and her seven-year-old son who demands a new school bag on his upcoming birthday from his mother.

The film is a recreation of events that happened back in Peshawar in December 2014 when terrorists mowed down hundreds of schoolchildren.

HDFC Bank Made RTGS, NEFT online transactions free

India’s private sector Bank HDFC has removed charges taken on online transactions through RTGS and NEFT from first November. The new decision has been taken with an aim to promote a digital economy.
