India’s largest public sector bank SBI reduced home and auto loan’s interest rate

India’s largest public sector bank SBI reduced home and auto loan’s interest rate by 5 basis points. The new reduced interest rates by SBI are applicable from November 1, 2017.

SBI’s earlier interest rate on home loans was 8.35% and as per revisions, now an interest rate of 8.30 per cent will be applicable from now. This is claimed to be the lowest interest rate in the country. The interest on home loans for all eligible salaried customers with 8.30 per cent rate is up to Rs. 30 lakh. An eligible customer under 8.30 % home loan interest can also take benefits of interest subsidy of Rs. 2.67 lakh under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yogna.


Chanda Kochhar, Priyanka Chopra Among World’s Most Powerful 100 Women: Forbes List

ICICI Bank CEO and MD Chanda Kochhar and Bollywood star Priyanka Chopra along with other three Indian women have featured in the list of the world’s 100 most powerful women compiled by Forbes.

Forbe’s list of world’s 100 most powerful women was topped by German Chancellor Angela Merkel. She retained the top spot for the seventh consecutive year and 12 times in total.

Chanda Kochhar was ranked 32 on the coveted list and remained topper among Indian women in the list. Hollywood and Bollywood start Priyanka Chopra was spotted at 97th place. Among Indian women after Ms Kochar it was HCL Corporation CEO Roshni Nadar Malhotra who occupied 57th place.

 


Gender Vulnerability Index (GVI), Bihar, UP at Bottom Goa Tops

In a latest Gender Vulnerability Index (GVI) prepared by Plan India, Goa has got the the no.1 place whereas Bihar and Uttar Pradesh are at the bottom. Goa was followed by Kerala and Mizoram to occupy second and third place respectively. national capital Delhi was placed at 24th in the survey by the independent child development organisation.

Private sector lender HDFC Bank today announced that it will launch SmartUp Zones all over the country in 30 main cities. The decision to setup SmartUp Zones is taken with aim to serve entrepreneurs of the country.

Main points of HDFC SmartUp Zones: These SmartUp Zones will be launched at more than 65 branches of HDFC Bank in selected cities which will include tier II and III locations.

 


Kidambi Srikanth achieves Career Best World No 2 BWF ranking

Indian ace Kidambi Srikanth achieves World No 2 ranking in the latest BWF ranking released today. This is because of his wonderful performance throughout the season. Kidambi has jumped up two placed from his earlier world no. 4.

This year Kidambi Srikanth had played five finals out of which four were won by him. With 73,403 points, he is only behind behind from world number one World Champion Viktor Axelsen of Denmark. Viktor is ahead from Srikanth by 4527 point.

 


Using drones for commercial purposes will soon be legal in India

Use of drones in India for commercial purpose will soon become a reality as India on 1st November,2017 drafted set of guidelines to make the use of drones and other unmanned aerial vehicles under a legal framework. Drone use policy in India was unveiled by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and may be in place by 31 December. Below are the key points of the proposed regulations:

Based on weight capacity drones has been classified into five types as nano, micro, mini, small and large. These will be weighing from 250 grams in weight to over 150 kg. Nano drones will be less than 250g in weight and will not need any security clearance.
