WiFi facilities in all gram panchayats Of Karnataka announced by State Government

A project to install WiFi facilities in all gram panchayats of Karnataka was announced by the state government. The project will start by covering 2,650 gram panchayats initially and by time will cover whole Karnataka state gram panchayats.

Important Technology Initiatives by Karnataka State Government:

The state is working hard to adopt at new technologies and taking more initiatives of such kinds. To attract young minds and to encourage them to be innovate and invent and become entrepreneurs, the state is planning to set up New-age incubation network centres at colleges across the state.

Centres of excellence for areas like aerospace, defence and Internet of Things (IOT) have also been set up by the state to provide required support to emerging technologies such as:

Data science
Artificial intelligence
Machine learning
Robotics
Cyber security

Karnataka government has also partnered with Nasscom for the establishment of a centre for data science and artificial intelligence, which will help entrepreneurs to be successful.


Vice President inaugurated Aadi Mahotsav in New Delhi

Vice President Venkaiah Naidu inaugurated Aadi Mahotsav in New Delhi. The theme of the fortnight-long Tribal Festival Aadi Mahotsav is – A Celebration of the Spirit of Tribal Culture, Cuisine and Commerce. The festival is a medium for showing the creativity of Tribals and will feature exhibition-cum-sale of tribal handicrafts, art, paintings, fabric, jewellery and much more through about 200 stalls.

More than 750 tribal artisans and artists from over 25 States will attend the festival.

President Ram Nath Kovind launches schemes worth Rs 3,455 cr in Jharkhand

President Ram Nath Kovind on 17th Foundation Day of Jharkhand launched various schemes entailing total expenditure of Rs 3,455 crore in Jharkhand. The schemes are as under:

An health insurance scheme of Rs 636-crore named as ‘Mukhyamantri Health Insurance Scheme’ launched. Under the scheme, 68 lakh families in the state will be benefited by getting treatment costing Rs 2 lakh.

108 Ambulance service wothr Rs 290-crore was also inaugurated by President in the state. Another scheme named as JOHAR (Jharkhand’s Opportunities for Harnessing Rural Development) scheme at an expenditure of Rs. 1,500 crore was also launched. JOHAR scheme’s aim is to help tribal and Dalit families double their incomes in four years.

Foundation stones two flyovers at Harmu and Kantatoli at a cost Rs 490 crore also laid by the President.


Urjit Patel appointed on BIS advisory board

Governor of RBI Urjit Patel was appointed in Bank of International Settlement – BIS’s Financial Stability Institute Advisory Board. BIS is the global financial organisation owned by major central banks of the world.
