Rafael Nadal Wins 11th Barcelona Open title

Spanish master Rafael Nadal came up with victory over Stefanos Tsitsipas to win Barcelona Open title for a recors eleventh time. Nadal registered a win with a 6-2, 6-1 over Stefanos Tsitsipas from Greek last Sunday. With this win world number one Rafael extended his own record of remaining unbeaten on clay. He has been unbeaten in last 46 sets on this clay.

Nadal now has total 77 titles to his name and is fourth in list of persons with highest number of titles.


HDFC Bank launches interactive humanoid IRA 2.0 in Bengaluru

One of India’s largest private sector bank HDFC has launched its new IRA 2.0, its interactive humanoid. This new version of IRA will help bank to enhance its user experience in Bengaluru’s Koramangala branch. Using the services of IRA, customers of HDFC bank will be able to get answer bank-related queries, frequently asked questions, and guide them inside the branch with voice-based navigation.

IRA 2.0 is development of HDFC Bank. The bank has made it in collaboration with Invento Makerspaces and Senseforth Technologies which are also its technology partners. It was in January 2017 last year that first humanoid was launched by HDFC bank. The bank had released it at Kamala Mills Branch in Mumbai.


Sitanshu Yashaschandra Elected for Saraswati Samman 2017

Saraswati Samman 2017- a poet, playwright and academic in Gujarati was selected for Saraswati Samman 2017. He was selectd based on his verses (poetry) collections published with title “Vakhar”. Vakhar was published in 2009.

Born in Bhuj district of Gujarat during british rule in 1941, Sitanshu was found of poetry. His poetry collections contains Odysseusnu Halesu, Jatayu, and Vakhar. It was because of his magnificent work that he has also been honoured with Padma Shri and Sahitya Akademi Award in past.


Maharashtra government & British Council Signed MoU

State government of Maharashtra and British Council of UK signed memorandum of understanding to promote education in the state. Around 30,000 teachers of Maharashtra will be provided training in English language to make them more comfortable in teaching students and to improve their skills level.


Longest Serving Chief Minister of India – Pawan Chamling

Sikkim Chief Minister, Pawan Chamling is now India’s longest serving Chief Minister with 25 years term. He surpassed the earlier record which was held by   former West Bengal Chief Minister Jyoti Basu who ruled for 23 years. Chamling completed 25 years as CM of Sikkim continuously. Pawan Chamling is also founding president of the ruling Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF). His longer time shows how much people trust in his leadership and want him to be CM of state.
