Gujarat tops logistics performance index chart: Commerce ministry

Gujarat state has toped the logistics performance index chart as per the report of Commerce ministry report released by Mr Suresh Prabhu. Gujarat is followed by Punjab and Andhra Pradesh. The parameters used to rank the states were infrastructure, services, safety of cargo, timeliness, track and trace, as per the new Logistics Ease Across Different States (LEADS) index developed by the commerce and industry ministry along with Deloitte.


World’s Largest Ice Festival held in China

World largest ice festival was organized in China. The’International Ice and Snow Festival’ was arranged in Harbin, north-east China. The city is one of the coldest city of China. The festival featured sculptures of Moscow’s Red Square and Bangkok’s Temple of the Emerald Buddha.


Delhi govt launches common card for bus, metro rides

Taking a big step in the transport sector, Delhi Chief minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday launched a common card for paying fares at Delhi Metro and in DTC busses. With this Delhi has become the first city of the country to have such a common card to be used for two different kinds of transports.


Haryana becomes first state to launch High Risk Pregnancy portal

Haryana is the first state of India to launch High-Risk Pregnancy (HRP) Portal. The portal helps in early detection of pregnancy cased in the state. Along with early detection, it also timely referrals to civil hospitals so that further care could be taken and delivery could be done by doctors who are specialists in such cases.

The web portal also track every high-risk pregnant woman till 42 days after delivery so as to provide adequate treatments to the lady during the ante-natal period.

Government Introduces Free treatment for Hepatitis C – scheme to be launched this year

Health ministry of India has decided to launch a scheme under which free treatment to Hepatitis C will be provided to affected persons. The free Hepatitis C treatment scheme will be launched this year. A budget of Rs. 600 Crore has been approved for the next three years for National Programme for Control of Viral Hepatitis. As per the cost, the treatment of Hepatitis C costs $63,000-94,000 for the full course in the US and Europe but, health ministry will be providing the treatment to affected people free of cost.
