AYUSH Minister lays foundation stone for Homeopathy Research Institute in Jaipur

Shri Shripad Yesso Naik (Minister of State (IC), for AYUSH) has laid foundation stone for establishment of Central Research Institute (CRI) in Jaipur. This Jaipur based CRI will be the third one which is to be created under the Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy (CCRH).


World Economic Forum Summit in Switzerland Concludes

World Economic Forum Summit 2018 being held in Davos, Switzerland has came to an end. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has came back to India after delivering a keynote address at the plenary session of WEF Sumit 2018. He also became the first PM to attend world’s top business leaders in the Swiss resort town of Davos in last two decades. PM addressed many global issues during his address. He focused on climate change, terrorism and protectionism as three global threats.


WEF 2018: Shah Rukh Khan Awarded with WEF’s Crystal Award

King of Bollywood Shah Rukh Khan has been awarded with WEF’s Crystal Award for his social work for the rights of women and children in India. Along with king Khan other awardees are Hollywood Star Cate Blanchett and famous singer Elton John.

Shahrukh Khan runs non-profit organization in India named as Meer Foundation that works for the female victims of acid attacks and major burn injuries through medical treatment, legal aid, vocational training, rehabilitation and livelihood support.


Andhra Pradesh and Zurich signed sister state agreement

Andhra Pradesh of India and Canton of Zurich came together by signing an agreement for mutual promotion of prosperity and development. The agreement was signed by Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu and Government Counsellor Minister Carmen Walker Spah in the presence of AP chief minister Chandrababu Naidu. The mutual agreement will bring both Andhra Pradesh and Canton of Zurich closer to each other. As a result scientific and economic relations between the two will also be strengthened.


India ranked at 177 position in Environmental Performance Index (EPI)

In the recent ranking released by Yale University and Columbia University in collaboration with WEF and Joint Research Centre of the European Commission for Environmental Performance Index (EPI), India has been placed at 177th place. Total 180 countries were taken into consideration for preparing Environmental Performance Index (EPI).

The top spot has been occupied by Switzerland, followed by France, Denmark, Malta and Sweden. The EPI index is prepared by considering 24 metrics such as Air quality, water and sanitation, Heavy Metals (lead exposure), Biodiversity and Forests.


First International Dam Safety Conference held in Thiruvananthapuram

First International Dam Safety Conference-2018 was held in Kovalam of Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala). It was held for two days from 23rd and 24th January 2018. It was Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan who inaugurated the conference along with Union Minister of State for Water Resources Arjun Ram Meghwal. This is the fourth one in the series of on going Dam Rehabilitation and Improvement Project (DRIP).
