Sri Lanka Baned importing non-airbag equipped vehicles from July 1

Keeping safety of people, Sri Lanka government has taken the decision to ban the import of vehicles without air bags for drivers and passenger sitting at front seat. The conditions also includes Anti-Locking Breaking System standards (ABS) and three-point seat belts for driver and passengers travelling front and rear seats. The ban will come into effect from July 1, 2018.


Anandiben Patel is new Governor of Madhya Pradesh

Former CM of Gujarat and BJP senior leader, Anandiben Patel has become the Governor of madhya Pradesh. She took the oath of MP new Governor on Tuesday (23/01/2018). High Court Chief Justice of MP, Hemant Gupta administered the Oath of Office to Anandiben. The Oath ceremony was organized at Raj Bhavan in the presence of Sumitra Mahajan(Speaker of Lok Sabha), CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan along with other cabinet colleagues.


Siddharth Pratap Singh Wins Swedish Open Junior Badminton Title

India’s emerging young shuttler Siddharth Pratap Singh has opened his international badminton titles account by winning Swedish Open Junior International Series. In the final match played at Uppsala in Sweden, Partap defeated Denmark’s Mads Christophersen quite comfortably in straight sets. Siddharth just took just 33 minutes to beat Christophersen.


India Will Grow at 7.4% growth rate in FY19- IMF

In a latest growth report released, International Monetary Fund (IMF) has projected that India’s growth rate will be 7.4 per cent in the financial year 2019. The IMF projected growth rate for India is better than China’s which is 6.8%. This is seen as a major boost for India.


India fifth most attractive market for investments: CEOs survey

In a survey done on by CEOs by global consultancy PwC, India has got fifth place in terms of most attractive markets for investments. This will be a great boost for Prime Minister Narendra Modi led government. The survey results will help Modi to represent India as a great investment point at WEF 2018 meeting. This will also help Indian industrial sector especially in the manufacturing sector, which has remained sluggish and is crucial to job creation.


West Indies to Host Women T20 Cricket World Cup

Women T20 Cricket World Cup is on the way ahead and this time this world tournament is going to happen in the West Indies. ICC has chosen West Indies for the 2018 edition of the Women’s World T20. The competition is scheduled to held from November 9, 2018 to November 24. West Indies woman team had won the last year’s title, so the team will play to defend the title.


Om Prakash Rawat Appointed as new Chief Election Commissioner (CEC)

Senior most Election Commissioner Om Prakash Rawat is the new Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) of India. He has taken the charge from current Chief Election Commissioner A.K. Joti who got retired on 22/01/2018 this week. The appointment of Prakash rawat was done by Union Law Ministry.


Dilip Chenoy is New Director General of FICCI

Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (Ficci) has appointed Dilip Chenoy as the department’s new Director General of FICCI on date 22/01/2018. Earlier Chenoy had worked as MD and CEO of National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) from where he resigned in 2015. He has also worked as DG of Society of Indian Automobile Manufactures (Siam) as well as deputy director general of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
