India Growth Rate will be at 7.3% in 2018 – World Bank Projects

As per the latest projections of World Bank, Growth rate of India is expected to be around 7.3 percent in year 2018 and for next two years, the bank has projected it to be 7.5 percent. In the 2018 Global Economics Prospect release report it was stated that despite of decisions like Demonetisation and Goods and Services Tax (GST), Economy of India is grown at a rate of 6.7 percent in 2017.

India’s economy is growing gradually as compared to China which is slowing down. In 2017 China had shown a growth of 0.1 percent as compared to India while in 2018 the growth of China has been recorded to be 6.4 per cent. And in further two years the growth of China will go down more marginally to 6.3 and 6.2 per cent.


MoU between India and Canada for cooperation in Science & Technology Approved by the Cabinet Committee

An MoU was signed between between department of Science and Technology of India and Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC) of Canada for speeding up and strengthening the scientific cooperation.

Highlights of the India Canada MoU:

As per the MoU, safe and sustainable infrastructure and integrated water management have been identified as areas for mutual cooperation. Both countries will come together for promoting multidisciplinary research partnership between India and Canada, the MoU envisages supporting India-Canada Centre for Innovative Multidisciplinary Partnership to Accelerate Community Transformation and Sustainability (IC-IMPACTS) programme.

 


Anchal Thakur from Manali Gives India Its First International Medal In Skiing

India have opened its meadal account in skiing at international level as Anchal Thakur from Manali, Himachal Pradesh has won a Bronze medal in the slalom race category at Alpine Ejder 3200 Cup organised by Skiing’s international governing body, Federation International de Ski (FIS) at the Palandoken Ski Centre, in Erzurum in Turkey.


AR Rahman becomes official brand ambassador of Sikkim

Music maestro AR Rahman has been officially named as the brand ambassador of the Sikkim state at a the opening ceremony of the Sikkim Red Panda Winter Carnival. The announcement was made by Sikkim Chief Minister Pawan Kumar Chamling. Accepting the invitation to be brand ambassador of tiny state Sikkim, Rahman said that it is a great honour for him.


Railways Of India launches transparent and efficient “New Online Vendor Registration System” in its research arm RDSO

The research arm of Ministry of Railways, Research Designs & Standards Organisation (RDSO) on behalf of Indian Railways has launched a New Online Vender Registration System. The motive of newly launched system is to make systems and procedures digital and more transparent.

The new system was launched after Minister of Railways & Coal, Shri Piyush Goyal took a review of the current functioning of RDSO. With major improvements and paradigm changes in the registration system, the new system is much more capable than the earlier.
