India’s largest floating solar power plant started in Kerala

India has opened a floating solar power plant in Kerala. The plant has been constructed on Banasura Sagar reservoir in Wayanad, Kerala and is largest floating solar power plant of India.

The plant has the capacity of 500 kWp (kilowatt peak) and floats on 1.25 acres water surface of the reservoir. It is made up with 1,938 solar panels, solar panels have been installed on 18 ferro cement floaters with hollow insides.


Prithvi Shaw named India’s captain for U-19 World Cup

Prithvi Shaw is named as India’s U-19 team’s captain for upcoming U-19 cricket world cup. Prithvi Shaw is from Mumbai and is a batsman in the India’s cricket team. He has shown his brilliant batting skills in the domestic cricket and has been selected as U-19 cricket team captain because of brilliant performance at domestic level.


Indian government allowed over 1,300 tribal Buddhist refugees from Myanmar to enter Mizoram

Indian government by going against its rules and policies related to Rohingyas comming from Myanmar to India, has allowed more than 1,300 tribal Buddhist refugees from Myanmar’s Rakhine region to enter Mizoram. All these Buddhist refugees from Myanmar had left their homes at Myanmar due to the war taking place between Myanmarese Army and the Arakan Army, made up of Buddhist insurgents.


Google launches Android Oreo Go edition for low-end phones

Google has launched Android Oreo Go edition for low end devices having memory up to 1 GB. This is the light edition developed with an aim to provide fast processing for phones with Low RAM such as 512 MB or 1 GB maximum. Currently low RAM android smartphones face processing issues, so this Android Oreo will ensure smooth working of low end mobile phones.


ADB Approves $580 million for Reliance’s Bangladesh power plant project

The Asian Development Bank’s (ADB) has approved the funding of US $580 million for Reliance Bangladesh power plant project. ADB has approved it for the development of Reliance Bangladesh Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) and Power Project.


Amitabh Bachchan launched book based on Indian cinema at Mumbai on Saturday

Bollywood mega star Amitabh Bachchan has launched a book named ‘Bollywood: The Films! The Songs! The Stars!’ at Mumbai on Saturday. The book is based on Indian cinema and is a coffee table book. It contains insights of history, many lesser known facts and behind seen moments of most iconic movies of Indian cinema.
