Eight Projects under Namami Gange Programme Approved by NMCG

NMCG (National Mission for clean Ganga) Committee given approval to eight projects worth of amount Rs. 700 Crore under its programme Namami Gange. All eight approved projects details are as under:

Four projects are approved sewage management in three states Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and West Bengal and three are concerned to drains treatment using bio-remediation whereas one project relates to inventorization and surveillance of Ganga River.


Government launches sovereign gold bond scheme 2017-18 – Series-III

Union Government in counsel with Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has propelled Sovereign Gold Bonds 2017-18 – Series-III. The applications for bond will be acknowledged from October 09, 2017 to December 27, 2017.

The bonds will be sold through banks, Stock Holding Corporation of India Limited, assigned post offices and perceived stock trades NSE and BSE.


America Richard H. Thaler Won Nobel Prize 2017 in Economics

Nobel Prize 2017 in Economics has been won by Economist from America Richard H. Thaler for his valuable contribution in behavioural economics. Richard H. Thaler will be given 9-million-kronor ($1.1-million) as prize money.

About Richard H. Thaler:

Thaler works at University of Chicago Booth School of Business as a professor of Behavioural Science and Economics. He has co-authored world famous and best seller Nudge (2008) in which major problems of society are tackled using behavioural economics.

About Nobel Prize in Economics:

This category of Nobel Prize was started in 1968. Sveriges Riksbank (Swedish National Bank) Prize in Economic Sciences is the official name of the prize. The prize was not the part of the original Nobel Prize list which were initiated in 1895 in the memory of dynamite tycoon Alfred Nobel.


Rafel Nadal Won China Open by Defeating Nick Kyrgios

Tennis star world number one Rafael Nadal (Spain) has won China Open Title which is his 6th title this current year.

He defeated Nick Kyrgios (Australia) at the China Open 2017. This is Nadal’s third overall victory over Nick Kyrgios of Australia. Nadal won the match in straight sets of 6-2 6-1.

He won a 16-time Grand Slam victor and went to the Chinese capital Beijing on the back of winning his third US Open.


Uttarakhand government has launched “Solar Briefcase”

Government of Uattrakhand has launched “Solar Briefcase” to make electricity accessible to far flung areas of the state. The solar briefcase has been launched by Uttarakhand State Government and a charitable funding agency named Swan Cultural Center and Foundation at Kedarnath Dham.

The aim of launching Solar Briefcase is to provide electricity to those areas of Uttrakhand where there are difficulties in providing normal form of electricity.


Mata Amritanandamayi Math (MAM)’s, ‘Jivamritam’ filtration system Launched By President Ram Nath Kovind

President Ram Nath Kovind on 8th october, 2017 launched Mata Amritanandamayi Math (MAM)’s, ‘Jivamritam’ filtration system, in in Vallikkavu, Kollam district of Kerala. The aim is to provide clean water to families specially living in villages.

Rupees 100 Crore funding for the project Jivamritam will be provided by Mata Amritanandamayi Math (MAM). Under the initiative, aim is to provide clean water to one crore household in villages. The scheme will work in phases and in first phase a target to install water cleaning filtration systems to 5000 villages all over the country within one year.

 


Kerala Tourism launches Continuous Tourist Survey 2017-20

Kerala tourism department has launched Continuous Tourist Survey (CTS), a survey to accelerate the tourism growth in the state. It is a three years survey which starts from this year and will continue till 2020.

The continuous Tourist Survey 2017-20 will be conducted in collaboration with M/s Datamation Consultants. M/s Datamation Consultants has been selected to collaborate with Kerala Tourism Department through a transparent tender process.
