A bill regarding the extension of term of punishment for cow slaughters was passed in the Gujarat assembly on Friday. Earlier it was 7 years but now if someone is caught in cow slaughtering, he or she will be punished with life imprisonment.
It also included a fine of Rs 1 lakh along with permanent confiscation of the used vehicle. Also the person will not be able to get bail as the offence is made non-bailable.
