West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee congragulated people of West Bengal as Digambarpur became Best Gram Panchayat of India. With this West Bengal has once again toped in country.
How Digambarpur got Best gram panchayat awards 2018?
A survey was conducted to find out best gram panchayat in India. Survey was done on 2.5 lakh gram panchayats of India. Out of these state government the Ministry of Panchayati Raj finalized three top states. Finally it was Digambarpur GP chosen as the best one in the country. The ranking was prepared based on different seven factors that includes system of planning, quality of planning, different activities and level of coordination, implementation of the plan and its proper monitoring, use of Information Technology and documentation.
Karnataka and Sikkim were other two states that were finalized in top three along with West Bengal. A cash prize will be given to gram panchayat as an honour. Along with best gram panchayat award, some certain achievement awards were also announced to gram panchayats of districts Purulia, Birbhum and Burdwan.
Best Gram Panchayat Awards
Panchayat awards are distributed by Ministry of Panchayati Raj, Government of India every year in the month of April. Best performing panchayats are selected from all over India. Panchayat that perform well in all aspects is chosen as winner. For more information check our below:
