AP Grameena Bank unveils desktop ATM in rural India

It seems that development in rural areas of Andhra Pradesh is going in right direction and opening of desktop ATM that too in rural areas is an example of it. Andhra Pradesh Grameena Vikas Bank (APGVB) has started its first desktop ATM at Kasibugga in Mandi Bazar of Warangal in Telangana. The mini ATM will be helpful for rural area people to withdraw small amounts.

Using the APGVB Bank desktop ATM, along with withdrawing money from the bank, customers will also be able to do other activities of banking. The initiative of desktop ATM by APGVB Bank has been launched on pilot basis. Once successful, the bank will take this number to 100 such ATMs to be installed at different busy branches of the AP.

Out of 100 desktop ATMs 60 will be installed in Telangana and rest 40 will be installed in Andhra Pradesh. Initially such ATMs will be installed in Nalgonda and Patancheru in Telangana and Kancherpalem and Srikakulam in Andhra Pradesh. The ATMs will be designed to work in all type of whether conditions and will work with a very little power consumption. It has been programmed in such a way to cater the small cash needs of rural customers by dispensing small denomination notes.
