Anchal Thakur from Manali Gives India Its First International Medal In Skiing

India have opened its medal account in skiing at international level as Anchal Thakur from Manali, Himachal Pradesh has won a Bronze medal in the slalom race category at Alpine Ejder 3200 Cup organised by Skiing’s international governing body, Federation International de Ski (FIS) at the Palandoken Ski Centre, in Erzurum in Turkey.

This is a good news for India just ahead of the start of winter Olympics to be held in South Korea. Twenty one years old Himachli girl Anchal said that she started well and took a good lead in start, which helped her later in getting the third-place place to confirm India’s first Bronze medal in skiing.

Everyone starting from PM Narendra Modi, Sports minister Rathore, Harsimrat Kaur badal, Piyush goyal and many others congragulated Anchal Thakur for her great achievement through tweets.
